WD Extend Engineer, AS

Overview

Lead architect and engineer for the Workday Extend application within the HR-IT Talent value stream, working in an Agile team alongside business analysts, developers and testers.

What you'll do

• Own the Workday Extend application and multiple Studio integrations.
• Understand active business processes and improve them to simplify the UI experience using Workday Extend technologies.
• Develop JSON formats in presentation UI components.
• Build custom objects, attachment objects and business objects with data sources in JSON.
• Create, design and maintain Workday reports, dashboards and calculated fields based on use cases.
• Run production deployments and releases through established release management processes.
• Partner with source system SMEs to analyze and design dimensional models for integration with the enterprise data warehouse and Adaptive Planning.
• Handle data integration schedules, including inter-model integrations and end-to-end data ingestion from source systems such as Workday, an enterprise data hub and third-party systems.
• Integrate the system with other critical applications such as Workday and Microsoft O365.
• Design and build inbound and outbound integrations across Workday, working with Core Connector, Cloud Connector, EIB, Report Designer, Workday Studio and Data Conversions loads.

What you'll need

• Programming in any high-level language, preferably JavaScript and WQL.
• Understanding of relational databases, including intermediate-level SQL.
• Workday Extend Certification.
• Working experience with the Data Integration, Data Quality and Data Architecture project life cycle and best practices.
• Experience with internet protocols, networks and related technologies, including HTTP, XML, JSON, REST and SOAP web services.
• Exposure to the Workday platform (Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent).
• Experience with Agile and integration solution development.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with Workday Extend technology in both a design and development capacity.
• Experience solving business problems with hands-on coding, database creation or other types of software development.
• Ability to work at a global level in a cross-cultural and diverse operating environment.
• Result-oriented and able to deliver under tight timelines.
• Overall relevant industry experience of 5+ years.

Nice to have

• 1 end-to-end Workday Extend implementation experience.
• Knowledge of Advanced, Matrix and composite reporting and BIRT.
• Fundamentals in Workday Studio, RAAS-based integrations and calculated fields.
• Technical background in PMD, SMD, AMD, Model Components and Orchestration.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows, applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
