4767 - Associate Director - Strategic Finance

Overview

Senior finance business partner role embedded with R&D, GTM, Customer Success and G&A leadership. Owns budget, headcount and business-case conversations with functional leaders and manages one Manager – Business Finance.

What you'll do

• Partner embedded with R&D, GTM, Customer Success and G&A on budget discussions, headcount planning, spend optimization and resource allocation.
• Own business cases and project economics for new initiatives and defend them in front of functional and finance leadership.
• Independently run recurring budget and performance conversations with functional heads.
• Perform unit economics and profitability analysis to support initiative evaluation and ROI decisions.
• Translate variance and performance data into a point of view and flag risks and challenge assumptions proactively.
• Manage the Manager – Business Finance: set priorities, review output quality and coach toward handling senior conversations independently.
• Act as the quality bar between operational output and what is fit to put in front of leadership.
• Step in across MIS, performance reporting and forecasting during close or budget-season crunch.

What you'll need

• 6–8 years in FP&A, Strategic Finance or business partnering roles, ideally in SaaS or high-growth tech.
• CA (1st Attempt) / CFA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent (Tier 1).
• Demonstrated ability to run a budget, headcount or spend conversation directly with a functional leader and hold your ground on the numbers.
• Some people-management experience, or clear readiness to manage and develop a direct report.
• Strong modeling and analytical skills; comfort working with AI/automation tools for first-pass analysis.
• Calm, direct communication style, able to deliver an unwelcome number without softening the substance.
