AI Application Engineer

Overview

AI Application Engineer focused on modernizing legacy, mission-critical applications using AI-assisted development and Microsoft cloud technologies.

What you'll do

• Modernize legacy applications built with VB6, Synon, RPG, RPGLE, and CLP on IBM i (AS400).
• Use Generative AI and AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI) to accelerate code conversion, testing, documentation, and deployment.
• Design and execute migration strategies from legacy platforms to modern Microsoft technologies.
• Build reusable modernization frameworks, patterns, and best practices.
• Develop modern business applications using Microsoft technologies including C#, .NET 8+, and ASP.NET Core.
• Design API-first architectures and service-based integrations using Azure services.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience with VB6 application development and maintenance.
• Proven experience modernizing legacy applications to Microsoft technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools and Generative AI technologies.
• Experience delivering large-scale application modernization or migration programs.
• Technical background across technologies including Synon (CA 2E), RPG/RPGLE/CLP, and IBM i (AS400).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
