Overview
AI Architect responsible for designing reliable AI features and reusable architecture patterns across AI Engineering initiatives. The role includes guiding model selection, prompt engineering, RAG, evaluation, observability, and production delivery.
What you'll do
- Create technical blueprints covering architecture, data needs, model strategy, evaluation, and delivery risks.
- Define patterns for model selection, agent workflows, NLP/NLU, lightweight ML, and fine-tuning decisions.
- Design reusable harness patterns for tool calling, context, memory, structured outputs, retries, and failure handling.
- Establish standards for prompt design, versioning, experimentation, and regression testing.
- Build evaluation frameworks, datasets, regression suites, error analysis, and judge patterns.
- Guide document parsing, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, reranking, and grounded responses.
- Mentor P2/P3 engineers and collaborate with product, customer, and SI partner teams.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, software engineering, or solution architecture.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field.
- Deep knowledge of LLMs, prompts, embeddings, retrieval, structured outputs, tools, and agentic workflows.
- Strong Python or Java skills and experience contributing to production-quality code.
- Experience designing LLM harnesses, prompt systems, RAG patterns, and evaluation approaches.
- Knowledge of Git, code review, testing, CI/CD, cloud delivery, and production engineering.
- Ability to explain AI trade-offs and coach less experienced engineers.
Nice to have
- Production experience with agentic frameworks or custom agent harnesses.
- Experience with structured evaluation harnesses, regression suites, or production feedback loops.
- Hands-on AWS experience with Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenSearch, or related services.
- Experience with fine-tuning, distillation, or domain adaptation.
- Guidewire, insurance, regulated, finance, or professional services domain experience.
