AI / ML Engineer

Overview

AI/ML Engineer role applying machine learning and deep learning techniques to develop and deploy AI solutions on Qualcomm platforms.

What you'll do

• Fine-tune large language models using custom content such as documents and data.
• Develop and optimize AI solutions for performance, efficiency, and deployment constraints.
• Translate exploration outcomes into documented solutions architecture and lessons learned.
• Act as a liaison between stakeholders and project teams to deliver feedback and enable changes.
• Collaborate with startups, developers, and students to guide adoption of emerging technologies.

What you'll need

• 5 to 10 years of experience applying AI/ML to practical technology solutions.
• Expertise in ML, deep learning, TensorFlow, NLP, and Transformer architecture.
• Strong programming skills in Python and scripting, plus C/C++; Java is an additional/complementary skill.
• Experience working with target OSes including Android, Windows, and Linux.
• Experience deploying large language models and embedding model/sentence transformers in production.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience programming in C/C++, Java, or Python.
• Bachelor’s (3+ years) / Master’s (2+ years) / PhD (1+ year) in engineering/computer science or related fields.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Exposure to transformer-based models such as BERT, GPT, T5, and Llama.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (GCP/AWS).
