AI/ ML Engineer

Overview

Build and test GenAI and agentic AI components on Google Cloud Platform using Google Enterprise Agent Platform and ADK frameworks. This independent contributor role emphasizes hands-on coding, learning best practices, and delivering high-quality features under guidance.

What you'll do

• Implement basic GenAI workflows, including prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent workflows.
• Build and integrate agent tools and simple planners using ADK.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform services, including Google Enterprise Agent Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
• Write clean, documented code with unit tests.
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve quality.
• Ensure basic observability through logs, error handling, and retries.
• Work closely with senior engineers and team leads to understand architecture and standards.
• Attend design discussions, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums.
• Contribute to documentation and team wikis.
• Apply Responsible AI principles, including safety prompts and filters.
• Follow security guidelines covering IAM roles, secret management, and data handling policies.
• Complete assigned tasks on time with minimal defects.
• Demonstrate growth in GenAI and agentic competencies.
• Actively participate in reviews and team discussions.
• Deliver assigned tasks with attention to detail.
• Seek clarity and apply feedback promptly.
• Show curiosity, ask questions, and adopt best practices.
• Document learnings and share them with peers.
• Communicate effectively and work well in team settings.
• Respect coding standards and security guidelines.

What you'll need

• 2–4 years in software/data engineering or ML development.
• Experience working on AI/ML projects and cloud platforms.
• Strong coding fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Java.
• Familiarity with APIs and SDKs.
• Prompt engineering, embeddings, and RAG concepts.
• Agent loops, tool integration, and memory fundamentals.
• Google Enterprise Agent Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.

Nice to have

• Experience working on AI/ML projects and cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
