Overview
Support General Ledger activities for the GBS team in Chennai, including transaction processing, financial reporting, reconciliations, invoicing, audit support and automation analysis.
What you'll do
- Process journal transactions according to standard operating procedures.
- Post rectification entries for errors identified by the supervisor.
- Extract reports from the ERP system according to standard operating procedures.
- Generate and update Trial Balance, P&L and Balance Sheet reports.
- Perform reconciliations of sub-modules against the Trial Balance.
- Work with Finance functional teams on basic macros.
- Analyze data and identify automation opportunities.
- Research, review, process and record transactions relating to cash and non-cash entries according to standard operating procedures.
- Support preparation of Trial Balance, P&L and Balance Sheet financial statements for Corporate Consolidation.
- Reconcile General Ledger balances against sub-modules and the Trial Balance, and contribute with the respective team to resolve issues.
- Verify and process shipping paperwork against orders to create customer invoices.
- Approve customer orders and upload them into the system.
- Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other records, and review them for accuracy.
- Assist in completing various audits for the unit.
- Explore automation opportunities using tools and techniques used by the department in collaboration with various IT teams.
- Work in a complex environment with strict project deadlines.
What you'll need
- 0 -2 yrs exp.
- BCom, BBA (Finance), MCom or MBA (Finance).
- Good understanding of MS applications at a basic level.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to be a team player.
- Willingness to work in a complex environment with strict project deadlines.
