APC Engineer for Digital Solutions

Overview

Project Engineer – Advanced Process Control responsible for delivering APC projects for Cement customers globally within ABB’s Process Automation business in Bangalore. The role develops and delivers APC scope while ensuring application quality, performance and budget requirements are met.

What you'll do

• Work on APC/APCA projects end-to-end for Cement.
• Carry out independently the basic and detailed engineering of APC solutions.
• Carry out engineering and commissioning of APC products for Cement plants.
• Study process operation and process control requirements and define suitable simple, complex and advanced regulatory control strategies for implementation at DCS.
• Ensure the engineering workflow is adhered to and projects are executed according to the Quality Management System.
• Prepare periodic reports, including weekly commissioning reports, timesheets and SAT reports, and update relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure timesheets are maintained periodically.
• Resolve customer queries on time and maintain customer relationships through a professional approach.
• Perform process analysis and estimate areas where optimization is required to enhance productivity.
• Provide remote assistance to the installed base.
• Ensure site activities comply with company health, safety and environmental policies.
• Take required support from the L2/L3 support line and resolve issues on time.
• Provide required inputs to the L2/L3 support line for issues raised.

What you'll need

• B. Tech/B.E. from a reputed university with First Class in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in APC implementation.
• Experience in Advanced Process Control technology and automation principles.
• Domain expertise in Cement.
• Basics of control systems and OPC communication with PLC/DCS.
• Availability to travel for either short- or long-term assignments, with 50% to 60% travel.
