Overview

Digital Solution Engineering Specialist for ABB’s Process Automation business in Energy Industries, based in Bangalore. The role designs and delivers Advanced Process Control/Optimizer projects and supports related studies and business growth.

What you'll do

• Execute Advanced Process Control/Optimizer projects from assessment and kick-off through post-audit.
• Design, model, configure, install, and commission APC/Optimizer solutions.
• Implement ABB Ability™ Advanced Process Control and Loop Performance Monitoring technologies as lead.
• Perform and participate in APC/Optimizer studies, proof-of-concepts/trials, and provide user training.
• Support sales and marketing to grow the APC/Optimizer business.
• Assist with technical and commercial proposals and estimate budget and cost modeling.
• Share lessons-learned and develop standard processes and tools for productivity and quality.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience using commercial APC software such as ABB Ability™ PnC, Honeywell Profit™ Suite, Aspen DMCplus/DMC3, or Yokogawa SMOC.
• Experience in plant operations.
• Expertise in Advanced Process Control, control systems, and Open Platform Communication (OPC).
• Prior experience handling a complete APC project cycle in specified sectors (e.g., chemicals, energy/utility, refinery/petrochemicals, fertilizer, steam/power generation).
• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in advanced process control.
• Experience estimating engineering efforts and developing standards/tools for productivity improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering degree.
