Application Developer

Overview

Design, develop and improve software that provides business, platform and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues, using various engineering methodologies. The role will spearhead the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, building and managing robust, scalable and secure infrastructure to support digital solutions.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks and tools.
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability and reliability.
• Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to.
• Escalate breaches of policies and procedures appropriately.
• Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience.

What you'll need

• Experience with Linux scripting.
• Database knowledge, including Oracle and MySQL.
• Experience with DevOps skill set, including GitLab, Chef and Jira.
• Programming experience in C++ and C, including libraries.

Nice to have

• Experience in Kafka and Spring Boot.
