Overview

Application Developer Specialist role for an individual with advanced experience across multiple programming languages and methodologies, who makes architectural recommendations, solves complex needs, and leads small projects.

What you'll do

• Ensure all programming and configuration adheres to corporate standards, and identify and address all integration issues, including version control of deliverables.
• Ensure business applications are developed in compliance with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
• Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
• Create and detail design documents, translating requirements into an appropriate system design, with version control of deliverables.
• Formulate and define application scope and objectives; devise and modify procedures to solve business problems.
• Monitor and report on the status of project efforts, anticipating and identifying issues that inhibit project goals and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead small projects or regularly coach other project personnel to ensure business application systems comply with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
• Influence the direction of projects and initiatives to comply with overall corporate strategy and objectives.
• Perform technical interviews.
• Work under limited supervision, seeking guidance from management staff on major exceptions to existing guidelines.

What you'll need

• 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or MIS field of study.
• Technical certificates in programming languages and IT disciplines such as advanced database administration, network infrastructure, security, analytics or cloud platforms.
• Ability to execute instructions and request clarification when needed.
• Basic clerical and data entry skills; strong data entry skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
• Ability to create and conduct formal presentations.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
• Ability to negotiate skillfully, promote and sell ideas persuasively, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.
