Overview

Provides intermediate-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases, supporting backend performance optimization, data integration, documentation, and secure development practices.

What you'll do

• Provide intermediate level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases, and integrate third party products.
• Translate technical specifications into code for moderately complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients, writing programs, developing code, testing artifacts, and producing reports.
• Employ software development techniques so tests are implemented in a way that supports automation.
• Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule, provide follow-up production support, and submit change control requests and documents.
• Follow software development methodology and development architecture standards.
• Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues, and participate in systems analysis activities.
• Understand client business functions and technology needs, and Vanguard's tools, technologies, and applications/databases, including those that interface with business area and systems.
• Learn and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Contribute to optimizing system performance through efficient database design and code enhancements to support scalability.
• Support the integration and maintenance of data pipelines between APIs and backend systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Maintain and update software documentation for backend components, highlighting logic, processes, and architecture.
• Apply intermediate knowledge of backend system security and data protection best practices during development.

What you'll need

• Minimum 3 years of experience in application development, system analysis, or database management.
• Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelor's in Computer Applications (BCA).
• Experience with database design, SQL, and data optimization techniques for high-performance applications.
• Familiarity with API development, integration, and third-party software integration.
• Must have skills: Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Node JS, AWS, SQL queries, Github, Bitbucket, Bamboo, CI/CD, TDD/BDD.
• Proficiency in Agile, Confluence, JIRA.
• Aptitude for continuous process improvement for process flows/workflows.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers and business stakeholders.
• Expert in debugging in AWS and legacy systems using modern tools.
• Proficiency in Agile monitoring/refining dashboards, SLOs, and solving known problems by following playbooks.

Nice to have

• Python (optional).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern development tools.
• Adobe Experience Manager and AWS Cloud background.
