Apprentice Trainee, Engineering

Overview

Apprenticeship trainee in Mechanical Engineering for the Pulp, Energy Circularity Business Line, based in Chennai, India. The role reports to the Manager, Engineering, PEC PEx Mechanical Engineering India.

What you'll do

• Prepare detail design drawings for boiler pressure parts and their equipment, pressure vessels, tanks and boiler support structures from engineering specifications (for example superheaters, economisers, support beams, heat exchangers, blow down tanks, mixing tanks, dissolving tanks, feed water tanks and their support saddles, and pressure equipment such as hoppers and casings).
• Create detail drawings and 3D models using engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks and E3D).
• Review and understand design inputs before starting detail design.
• Familiarise yourself with applicable codes and standards (ASME, EN and IBR).
• Learn the process of boiler pressure parts, pressure vessels, tanks and their equipment.
• Work collaboratively with experienced engineers across disciplines.
• Maintain check prints and COPQ man hours.
• Upload drawings into M-file, if required.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 65% aggregate marks in an undergraduate degree specialised in the mechanical domain.
• Basic knowledge of E3D, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Minimum 0-1 years of experience in SolidWorks / E3D design tools (currently working with SolidWorks).
• Basic knowledge of boiler pressure parts, equipment, pressure vessels and tanks.
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Certification in SolidWorks or E3D.
