Assistant Manager - Application Engineering

Overview

Lead and support application engineering projects for chain drive timing and variable cam timing systems, from product selection and design through validation, customer support, and production assistance.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering projects for chain drive timing and variable cam timing systems.
• Understand customer valve timing strategies and select appropriate products.
• Design products to meet performance specifications and packaging constraints.
• Evaluate proof of concept designs and recommend application-specific changes.
• Lead or support DFMEA and DVP&R reviews with customers.
• Investigate failures using 8D, FTA, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis.
• Support prototype analysis, customer vehicle diagnostics, technical meetings, and plant product improvements.

What you'll need

• Knowledge of FORD I6 timing drives.
• Understanding of gasoline ignition and diesel combustion systems and performance.
• Ability to perform analytical calculations and stack-ups.
• Ability to coordinate projects with multinational working groups.
• Competence in ISO 50001:2011 energy management system requirements.
