Overview

Assistant Manager, Ocean Operations (Chennai) coordinates regional supply chain operations and ensures end-to-end shipment movement with a focus on on-time performance and quality.

What you'll do

• Coordinate day-to-day supply chain operations within the ISC region.
• Be accountable for achieving high quality standards, including on-time shipment movement and appropriate exception handling.
• Ensure work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs for quality delivery.
• Follow SOPs to solve client issues quickly and ensure smooth operations at origin and destination, escalating as needed.
• Coordinate day-to-day logistics operations with ocean carriers, cartage partners, customs, and warehouses.
• Execute end-to-end movement of freight within a regional network.
• Work with peers and supervisors to problem-solve.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5 years of global forwarding or related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 4+ years of industry experience in ocean freight, import compliance, or warehousing is encouraged.
• Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office or Google apps.
• Exceptional organisational, prioritisation, planning, and process improvement skills.
