Overview

Associate Director of Operations to build and scale large, distributed, real-world operations from scratch. The role focuses on execution in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.

What you'll do

• Build and scale operations from the ground up, including operating model, processes, hiring, metrics, and systems.
• Own large, distributed operations across multiple locations, teams, and workflows.
• Build high-performing teams by hiring, developing leaders, setting execution bars, and fostering ownership.
• Identify bottlenecks, create repeatable processes, and continuously improve operations.
• Respond to breakages by going to the ground to solve root causes.
• Set operational metrics and drive performance, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and running large, distributed, real-world operations.
• Experience in e-commerce, logistics, marketplaces, field operations, fast-scaling startups, or hardware-adjacent businesses.
• A track record of building teams and operating models from scratch.
• Strong people leadership experience with accountable and mission-committed teams.
• Extremely high ownership and agility to adapt to changing plans and ambiguity.
• Strong operational judgment for when to build or break processes and get work done.
