Associate Director, RDU IT Data Engineering

Overview

Associate Director, RDU IT Data Engineering is a hands-on technical leadership role designing and delivering scalable, secure, cloud-based data and AI platforms for rare disease innovation.

What you'll do

• Design and build cloud-native ELT/ETL pipelines and domain-oriented data products on AWS and Snowflake.
• Define integration patterns for batch, micro-batch, and event-driven data flows.
• Use AI copilots to scaffold SQL/Python/dbt code and assist with testing and query optimization.
• Implement data quality frameworks with anomaly/drift detection and root-cause suggestions.
• Instrument pipelines with metrics, logs, and traces, and correlate incidents across systems.
• Operationalize governance and privacy controls including RBAC/PBAC, encryption, retention, and PII detection.
• Mentor engineers on modern data engineering and responsible AI usage.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, and analytics.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Python.
• Experience building ETL/ELT and orchestration (Apache Airflow, AWS Glue).
• Snowflake experience including RBAC and performance tuning areas (e.g., warehouse sizing, Streams/Tasks, SnowPipe).
• dbt and Fivetran experience for modular, testable transformations with CI/CD and version control.
• Practical experience using AI copilots for code/test generation with human review.
• Knowledge of AWS architecture patterns, Infrastructure as Code, and GitHub-based CI/CD.

Details

• Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore (India - Bangalore).
• Working model: in-person with an average minimum of three days per week from the office.
• Local candidates who can join immediately are preferred.
