Associate Director - Systems Architecture - Solutions

Overview

Lead end-to-end solution architecture for complex technology initiatives, defining designs that align with enterprise architecture standards and strategic technology direction. The role also contributes to the adoption of Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, MCP and AI-enabled automation.

What you'll do

• Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for complex technology initiatives, from discovery and requirements through design, implementation.
• Understand business capabilities, functional requirements, constraints, and strategic objectives and translate them into appropriate solution architectures and technology designs.
• Define architecture across applications, APIs, integrations, data, cloud/infrastructure, security, identity, observability, and operational components.
• Produce architecture deliverables including high-level designs, solution architecture diagrams, integration/data-flow diagrams, architecture decision records, technology recommendations, and implementation roadmaps.
• Evaluate solution options and perform build-vs-buy, COTS/SaaS, cloud service, platform, and technology assessments, documenting trade-offs, risks, costs, and architectural decisions.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements (NFRs) including availability, scalability, performance, resilience, security, privacy, disaster recovery, maintainability, and supportability.
• Design integration solutions using appropriate patterns such as APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging, microservices, batch/file integration, and third-party/SaaS integrations.
• Ensure solutions comply with organizational standards for security, data protection, regulatory requirements, architecture principles, technology standards, and cloud governance.
• Identify architecture risks, technical debt, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints early and define appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Participate in architecture governance and design reviews, presenting solutions and obtaining required architecture/security approvals.
• Collaborate with Enterprise and Domain Architects to ensure solutions align with broader enterprise architecture, reusable platforms, strategic roadmaps, and modernization objectives.
• Support modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, application modernization, API enablement, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and legacy transformation, where appropriate.
• Provide architecture oversight for large and complex technology programs, including initiatives involving significant third-party/vendor solutions and technology investment.

• Strong experience in security and Identity & Access Management.
• Strong experience in high availability, resilience and disaster recovery.
• Strong experience in performance and scalability.
• Strong experience in DevSecOps and CI/CD concepts.
• Strong experience in observability and operational architecture.
• Strong experience in SaaS/COTS and third-party product integration.
• Strong experience in cost optimization and solution lifecycle considerations.
• Strong experience working with Agile/product-based engineering teams.
• Strong experience leading technical discussions across multiple engineering and architecture disciplines.
• Strong experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Strong experience with Single Sign-On (OAuth, SAML).
• Strong experience with development stack: MEAN stack, .NET Core, Python, or similar middleware technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), or AI-enabled automation, since the role contributes to their adoption.

Details

• Location: Gurugram/Noida.
• Hybrid role: at least three days per week in the office, with one anchor day per week for office-based teams.
