Associate Engineer - Mechanical

Overview

Associate Engineer responsible for mechanical engineering projects and solutions for Eaton’s Capacitor, VISOVAC and Network Protector product lines, including design, prototyping, testing and VAVE activities.

What you'll do

• Perform design calculations, prototype trials and lessons-learned documentation with engineering leads.
• Prepare CAD models, 2D drawings and bills of materials.
• Release engineering documents in SAP and Enovia through the ECR process.
• Plan and manage NPD and VAVE development work for on-time delivery.
• Develop prototypes and assist with prototype builds and testing trials.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align schedules, costs and performance.
• Identify and mitigate development risks while contributing to innovation disclosures, patents and trade secrets.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and electromechanical physics understanding.
• Hands-on prototype development experience.
• Proficiency in Inventor, AutoCAD, 3D modelling, SAP and Enovia.
• Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage domains, electromechanical product design, and metal and polymer materials.
• Understanding of VAVE processes and IEEE/IEC standards.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of low- or medium-voltage product development experience.
• Experience with product design, prototyping, testing and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of engineering change order processes.
