Mechanical Technical Lead Engineer

Overview

Lead mechanical subsystem projects from concept through design validation, release, procurement, assembly, and customer qualification for new product development, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and reliability initiatives.

What you'll do

• Own and execute medium-complexity mechanical subsystem projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product objectives and obtain design approvals.
• Develop and present design, analysis, and validation reports.
• Create and execute test plans to characterize and validate design performance.
• Perform heat transfer, stress, vibration, fluid and gas dynamics, and manufacturability analyses.
• Design and develop thermo-mechanical components considering fluid-flow characteristics.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks through structural, strength, seismic, tipping, flow, and thermal calculations.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with at least 4 years.
• Experience taking designs from concept through detailed engineering, testing, procurement, assembly, and qualification.
• Experience with NX, engineering drawings, GD&T, standards, and change-management processes.
• Experience with tolerance analysis, dFMEA, 8D problem solving, RCCA, 5-Why, and DFMA.
• Ability to conduct design reviews and secure stakeholder approval.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization and align priorities under aggressive deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with OEM components, sheet metal, machined and welded assemblies, plastics, or ceramics.
• Understanding of Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID).
• Knowledge of ANSI, ASME, SAE, ISO, or SEMI standards applicable to the semiconductor industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
