Mechanical Engineer – Enclosures, Frames & Sheet Metal

Overview

Mechanical engineer responsible for designing, developing, qualifying, and supporting semiconductor equipment enclosures, structural frames, and sheet metal assemblies.

What you'll do

• Design and develop sheet metal enclosures, machine frames, weldments, doors, panels, and related mechanical assemblies.
• Use DFMA principles to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and streamline assembly.
• Run structural, vibration, seismic, and tolerance analyses to validate performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and quality to resolve fabrication and field issues.
• Partner with suppliers to optimize fabrication methods, welding, powder coating requirements, and material selection.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings, and release engineering documentation including BOMs, specs, ECOs, and drawing packages.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of sheet metal, structural frames, and equipment enclosures.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes.
• Proficiency in Creo.
• Experience creating detailed engineering drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional engineering environment.
