Design Engineer - Mechanical

Overview

Design, develop, validate, and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems for new products and sustaining engineering. Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

What you'll do

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies from concept through production.
• Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Create and review drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Plan and execute verification and validation activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, supply chain, service, and suppliers.
• Support prototyping, qualification, manufacturing transfer, and engineering changes.
• Conduct technical reviews, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, and NPI.
• Experience with mechanical components and assemblies from concept through production.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, strength of materials, and engineering calculations.
• Experience with prototype development, testing, design verification, and iteration.
• Experience creating engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or Tool Design.
• Experience leading technical tasks or coordinating cross-functional design activities.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and cost optimization.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
