Associate Engineer - RF SW

Overview

Associate Engineer role in Qualcomm's Modem-RF Software team, developing and validating software for Qualcomm's Modem-RF Wireless chipsets.

What you'll do

• Develop drivers for leading Modem-RF Transceivers in close collaboration with RF Hardware, Modem/Baseband and RF ASIC teams.
• Create, develop and optimize Modem and RF Transceiver and Antenna / RF Front End algorithms and software modules to improve system performance, factory yields and RF testability.
• Provide Modem-RF Driver expertise to investigations of complex RF and Modem issues in a cross-functional Hardware / Software working environment.
• Work closely with physical layer teams to deliver new features that keep Qualcomm Modem performance competitive.
• Collaborate with RF & Modem Systems, Hardware and Test Engineering during product development cycles.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong C programming skills with an understanding of RF and/or communications systems.
• Knowledge of digital communications and RF theory.
• C and/or C++ software programming and debugging skills on embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Good understanding of software engineering concepts.
• Good understanding of wireless communication systems.
• Good communication skills and ability to be a team player.
• Fresh graduates need a good understanding of C and/or C++, software engineering concepts with focus on embedded software, digital/wireless communications, ECE fundamentals and RF theory.

Nice to have

• Understanding of embedded real-time systems.
• Experience in LTE or 5G wireless systems.
• Knowledge of wireless communication in any radio access technology (e.g. LTE, 5GNR, etc.).
• Wireless system knowledge applicable to Modem-RF Software, communication theory and radio architecture.
• Modem/communications device driver development experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of HW and RF test equipment (protocol test equipment, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.).
