Technology Early Career Entry Program

Overview

A technology early career internship program at State Street designed to develop graduates technically and professionally toward future technology leadership roles, working with State Street Technology Services in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

What you'll do

• Analyze business and technical requirement documents.
• Contribute to application design, development, testing and deployment.
• Participate in agile team meetings such as stand-up calls and retrospective meetings.
• Prepare the technical documentation required for the adopted SDLC process.
• Collaborate with various State Street internal teams.
• Understand cloud computing fundamentals, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, NaaS, and AWS and Azure cloud concepts.
• Work with DevOps concepts and tools, including CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, GitHub and Harness.
• Work with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace and Grafana for presentations and dashboards.
• Work with site reliability engineering, ITIL processes, and ticketing and project management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence.
• Understand database, middleware, storage, Windows and Unix operating environment concepts.
• Work with automation tools and languages such as R, Python, Ansible (AAAS), RPA (Blue Prism), and Django for automation of network configurations.

What you'll need

• B.Tech degree or equivalent or related field.
• Combination of academic aptitude, analytical capabilities, and excellent communication.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Attention to detail and good understanding of coding, design, development of applications and SDLC methodologies.
• Display a culture of individual ownership of tasks and accountability in performing the role.
• Ensure the highest level of the Code of Conduct is displayed in behavior.
• Support the 'Risk Excellence' culture within the business.
• Adhere to limits of delegation and escalation procedures required by the manager, in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge and skills in GUI development with Java middle tier and databases back-end to create an end-to-end solution.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and common practices such as code reviews and unit testing.
• Good understanding of SQL performance tuning techniques, including query plan understanding and management, SQL tracing, DB stats, and indexing techniques.
• Good in managing and resolving problems on a live production system.
