Associate Leverage& Acquisition Finance - Financial Sponsor Coverage

Overview

Associate role in Leveraged Acquisition Finance (LAF) and Financial Sponsor Coverage (FSC) within MUFG’s Global Corporate & Investment Banking platform, focused on India-linked transactions.

What you'll do

• Build client relationships with financial sponsors active in India and support origination.
• Contribute to account planning and identify acquisition, holdco, refinancing, and structured credit opportunities.
• Prepare pitch materials, market updates, and tailored financing proposals.
• Support deal execution from structuring through internal approvals, documentation, and closing.
• Structure bespoke financing solutions across senior debt, mezzanine, holdco financings, and hybrid instruments.
• Drive origination across INR loans, offshore facilities (ECB), NCDs, and HoldCo structures.
• Track sponsor pipelines and analyze pricing, leverage, covenants, and competitive dynamics.

What you'll need

• 4–10 years of experience in leveraged finance, structured finance, sponsor coverage, or investment banking.
• Strong understanding of India financing landscape including ECB regulations, NCD markets, bank lending frameworks, and cross-border structures.
• Proven experience structuring and executing complex financing transactions.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-border environment managing multiple stakeholders across geographies.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and client engagement skills.
