Associate – Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer, Advisory

Overview

Associate-level Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer responsible for managing enterprise data governance, automation, metadata capture, and compliance across cloud and on-premises data sources.

What you'll do

• Manage Microsoft Purview for enterprise data sources across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI automation for Purview API activities.
• Configure Purview Domains, Collections, Data Catalogs, scans, and metadata classification.
• Implement Microsoft 365 governance policies for SharePoint and Teams.
• Support Power Platform tenant-to-tenant migrations while maintaining governance and security.
• Monitor governance maturity, data quality, and compliance metrics.
• Document governance processes, automation workflows, and operational guidelines.

What you'll need

• 3–6 years of experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance platforms.
• Expertise in Purview Data Map, scanning, classification, and metadata management.
• Strong PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI scripting skills.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server data sources.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 governance, including SharePoint and Teams.
• Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI tenant-to-tenant migrations.
• Bachelor of Technology degree.
