Overview
Associate Software Engineer to join the EnCore ERP development team. You will build and maintain C#/.NET and SQL features for a mission-critical enterprise resource planning system used by manufacturing customers.
What you'll do
- Write safe, testable C# code using enterprise practices for parameter binding, exception handling, and resource cleanup.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries to handle joins, grouping, null values, and transaction boundaries.
- Debug issues systematically using logs, breakpoints, and methodical reasoning.
- Participate in code reviews as both author and reviewer.
- Implement features and bug fixes from specifications with edge cases and test coverage in mind.
- Collaborate with QA, product, and customer success to understand requirements and validate solutions.
What you'll need
- Foundational C#/.NET knowledge, including value vs. reference types.
- Ability to use LINQ, collections (List<T>, Dictionary<TKey, TValue>), and async/await patterns.
- SQL fundamentals including SELECT/INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE and INNER/LEFT JOIN.
- Correct NULL handling using IS NULL / IS NOT NULL and use parameterized queries.
- Debugging discipline, including stepping through code and reviewing logs/variable state.
- General competencies in ownership, communication, curiosity, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to writing small test cases to isolate problems.
Nice to have
- Experience with relational databases; familiarity with ASP.NET/WinForms or similar web development.
- Understanding of version control (Git/Azure DevOps) and unit testing frameworks or TDD.
- Exposure to enterprise/ERP systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent learning).
