Overview
Lead engineering ownership for Flight Control and Landing Systems programs, including certification planning and execution. Serve as the engineering point of contact while leading multidisciplinary teams through technical development and delivery.
What you'll do
- Interface with customers and internal and external execution teams.
- Build metrics and feedback infrastructure for progress, risks, and schedule performance.
- Translate customer expectations into executable project plans.
- Lead cost estimates and coordinate technical and project execution for bids and proposals.
- Manage program scope, changes, schedules, critical paths, and dependencies.
- Lead engineering milestone events and proactively address project risks.
- Mentor junior project and people leaders.
What you'll need
- At least 10 years of relevant experience with a STEM degree, or 7 years with an advanced related degree.
- Extensive technical background in Flight Controls.
- Documented success leading programs through DO-178 certification and Stages of Involvement audits.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures for military and commercial aircraft products.
- Proven record of on-time delivery while leading teams.
- History of leading complex programs to superior execution results.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice to have
- Experience taking Model Based Development Flight Controls projects through DO-178 certification.
- Experience leading both project and people teams.
- Experience negotiating scope and schedule commitments.
- Previous success in program recovery efforts.
- Exposure to aircraft operations or experience as a licensed pilot.
Details
- Remote role based in the United States.
- Travel to a site location may be required as needed.
- Salary range: USD 132,400–251,600 yearly.
