Overview
Reporting to the QE Manager, the Automation Engineer Associate Analyst will deliver test planning and execution activities for new or modified applications and systems across multiple platforms. The role focuses on QE test automation solutions, with a focus on SAFe Agile, in partnership with Scrum Teams and business colleagues.
What you'll do
- Deliver the QE Automation roadmap for each team.
- Build and maintain automation for critical and complex business applications.
- Develop test automation for in-sprint and regression testing based on product understanding.
- Execute automation scripts and report bugs.
- Determine priority for test cases and create effective execution plans with maximum coverage.
- Participate in PI and Sprint planning and Agile ceremonies.
- Track and report automation progress according to the plan.
- Develop skills in new automation tools to improve automation penetration.
- Contribute to the implementation of new ideas and solutions.
- Mentor and develop junior resources.
- Adhere to the organization's Quality Engineering best practices and help drive changes to achieve greater efficiency.
- Identify and support Automation and DevOps opportunities, including efficiencies in in-sprint automation and regression as CI/CD pipelines develop.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least two, typically five or more years' experience in a system quality environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 0 - 1 years' experience in QE - Test Automation.
- 0 - 1 years' experience in Selenium with Cucumber automation tool.
- Knowledge or experience in automation of web-based applications and APIs.
- Knowledge or experience in Java scripting to develop automation scripts.
- Knowledge or experience developing custom automation solutions and functions.
- Knowledge or experience performing deep failure analysis to address automation failures.
- Good knowledge of all phases of the Test Cycle: Test Design, Test Execution, Defect Management and reporting.
- Knowledge of the Software Delivery Lifecycle, with specific expertise in Software Testing.
- Broad knowledge of automated testing and modelling tools.
- Good knowledge of web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, MS Edge and Chrome.
- Competent use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Comfort working independently or as part of a team.
- Accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong interest in personal development.

- Knowledge or experience in web automation using other automation tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of codeless automation tools.
- Knowledge or experience automating desktop and mainframe applications.
- Knowledge or experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge or experience with mainframe applications.
- Knowledge of testing Salesforce and Vlocity applications.
- Experience in Python or C# coding.
