Overview

Lead Site Reliability Engineering practices and initiatives to improve the availability, reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency of AWS-based applications and infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Lead SRE practices and initiatives to improve availability, reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency of AWS-based applications and infrastructure.
  • Design and implement highly available and resilient AWS architectures.
  • Drive DevOps automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK, Ansible, and scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
  • Design and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar DevOps platforms, with focus on deployment automation and release reliability.
  • Establish and improve observability and monitoring practices, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and proactive detection using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or equivalent technologies.
  • Own and drive incident, problem, and change management processes, including production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and prevention of recurring incidents.
  • Define and track SRE metrics and practices, including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, availability, latency, MTTR, MTBF, and capacity/utilization metrics.
  • Implement automation and self-healing mechanisms to eliminate repetitive operational activities, reduce manual intervention, and improve MTTR and overall system reliability.
  • Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, scalability, and capacity-management strategies for critical AWS workloads and applications.
  • Lead and mentor SRE/DevOps engineers, conduct technical reviews, establish engineering standards, collaborate with development, security, and architecture teams, and continuously improve the organization's DevOps and SRE maturity.

What you'll need

  • Hands-on understanding of AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS/Aurora, CloudFront, Route 53, CloudWatch, and other core AWS services.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK, or Ansible.
  • Scripting skills in Python or Shell.
  • Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or equivalent.
  • Experience with incident management, root-cause analysis, and SRE metrics (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets).
  • Experience with containers: Docker and Kubernetes/EKS or ECS.
  • Working knowledge of networking: VPC, load balancers, Route 53, CloudFront, DNS, TCP/IP.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
  • Experience leading and mentoring SRE/DevOps engineers.

Nice to have

  • AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator.
  • Hands-on experience managing large-scale production AWS environments.
