Overview
Backend Engineer focused on building third-party API integrations and a scalable integration platform for TRM’s AI-native products.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain third-party API integrations for Agentic products and workflows.
- Develop scalable integration infrastructure, shared services, and internal tooling for new data sources.
- Build reliable APIs, backend services, and data pipelines supporting high-volume, mission-critical experiences.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and internal stakeholders to translate integration needs into technical roadmaps.
- Improve integration platform quality, observability, reliability, and maintainability as usage grows.
What you'll need
- Experience designing and building scalable backend systems and production APIs/web services.
- Strong understanding of third-party API integration patterns (authentication, rate limits, retries, error handling, data normalization, monitoring).
- Experience with storage systems such as relational/analytical databases, queues, caches, or event-driven architectures.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and identify highest-impact technical priorities.
- Strong ownership mindset from vague requirements through production launch and iteration.
- Experience communicating complex technical ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, data, infrastructure, and customer-facing teams.
- Experience with OSINT data sources (plus).
- Experience with AI Production Systems (plus).
Details
- Location: United States.
- On-call rotation: approximately one week long, once every 4–6 weeks.
- On-call includes responding to PagerDuty alerts and triaging support requests from designated Slack channels.
