Senior Backend Engineer

Overview

Senior Backend Engineer role focused on designing and building production backend services, integrations, and scalable APIs for the Fieldwire Platform.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain production services at scale.
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
• Develop integrations between Fieldwire and external services and partners.
• Lead technical architecture discussions and drive technical decisions.
• Mentor other engineers and improve engineering standards and processes.
• Release APIs with 100% backward compatibility.
• Build services with auto-scaling and architect real-time data syncing systems.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of production web application experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Expertise in modern web application development and relational databases.
• Ability to write clean, well-tested, modular code maintainable by others.
• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails and its ecosystem.
• Experience with high-traffic web applications and services.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Familiarity with AWS.
