Backend Engineer

Overview

Backend Engineer to build and scale UPI payment infrastructure for P2P, P2M, QR, and Autopay flows as part of a core payments team.

What you'll do

• Build and scale UPI payment systems covering P2P, P2M, QR, and Autopay flows.
• Integrate backend services with PSPs/banks and the NPCI UPI stack.
• Design reliable transaction systems with idempotency, retries, and reversals.
• Develop low-latency, high-throughput microservices for payments.
• Implement secure payment flows including device binding and authentication.
• Manage end-to-end transaction lifecycle, logs, and reconciliation.
• Collaborate on integrations with rewards, wallet, and checkout systems.

What you'll need

• 3–8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Fintech/payments experience (mandatory).
• Experience in high-scale consumer apps.
• Strong understanding of UPI architecture and flows.
• Experience integrating with banks/PSPs.
• Security knowledge for fintech systems including encryption, tokenization, and secure key management.
• Experience with OAuth/JWT authentication and authorization.
