BIM Electrical Engineer

Overview

BIM Electrical Engineer role at Johnson Controls, responsible for Revit BIM modeling of electrical and ELV engineering services and coordinating clashes and construction documentation on medium and large projects.

What you'll do

• Revit BIM modeling of engineering services including Electrical (ELV) as per the designed tender markups.
• Check clashes within and between services using Navisworks Manage and resolve them according to the clash report.
• Coordinate with ASMEP services with the program schedule.
• Prepare cable tray routing and conduit routing with setting out details.
• Prepare schedules and construction documents (setting out details, shop drawings, BOQ) directly from Revit.
• Work in ACC/Forma as per BIM ISO 19650 standards.
• Manage medium sized projects individually and work with the team on big projects.
• Meet and coordinate with global stakeholders on a daily basis.

What you'll need

• Minimum 6-8 years of Revit experience, especially in electrical/ELV modelling.
• Revit experience and detailed understanding of its process, including setting up and maintaining projects, files, families and work sets.
• Fire alarm design knowledge, including battery/loop calculations.
• Knowledge of clash detection and coordination using Navisworks.
• Experience in MEP construction field.
• Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
• ELV product and design knowledge.

Nice to have

• Fire alarm design knowledge preferably NICET or BS5839 certified engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Autodesk Revit Family Creation (parametric families, any version).
• Autodesk ACC working experience.
• Navisworks Manage and AutoCAD (any version).
• ELV design knowledge (fire alarm, PAVA, access control, BMS systems).
• Xtralis VESDA calculation software.
• Certification in Revit BIM Professional.
