Overview
Own and modernize the build, packaging, and developer build infrastructure for Infinia Software Defined Storage across C/C++, Go, and web UI components.
What you'll do
- Own build workflows from source checkout through compilation, packaging, publication, and installation validation.
- Maintain C/C++, Go, and npm build workflows, including compilers, dependencies, and configuration.
- Standardize containerized and host build environments across local, CI, and release branches.
- Produce versioned container images and Debian/RPM packages and validate installation, upgrades, and rollback.
- Diagnose compiler, linker, dependency, packaging, platform, and developer-versus-CI issues.
- Improve build performance using caching, parallelism, dependency tracking, and measurement.
- Write designs, set standards, review changes, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team decisions.
What you'll need
- 5–8 years of experience in software, build engineering, developer infrastructure, or a related field.
- Strong Linux compilation and linking knowledge with GCC/Clang and modern build systems.
- Strong Python and Bash skills for build tooling and diagnostics.
- Practical experience with Go build tooling and Node.js/npm workflows.
- Experience with Docker-based build environments and multi-stage images.
- Hands-on Debian and RPM packaging, dependency management, versioning, installation, upgrades, and publication.
- Experience integrating build systems with CI/CD platforms and artifact repositories.
Nice to have
- Experience with build acceleration, secure or hermetic builds, legacy build-system migration, systems software, or developer productivity workflows.
