Overview
Serve as the Business Capability Lead - Downstream Procurement in Mumbai, India, architecting the process landscape and strategically optimizing systems that drive global downstream procurement operations. Champion continuous improvement, bridge site-level manufacturing needs with global standards, and support the transition from legacy SAP to SAP S/4HANA under the ASPIRE transformation program.
What you'll do
- Support P2P execution for direct materials (COGS), resolving order delays, blocked invoices, and GR/IR reconciliations across Roche Diagnostic Plants.
- Transition legacy, site-siloed processes and localized setups into a unified, best-practice global operating structure.
- Serve as the operational subject matter expert during the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA by providing input into local change impacts and supporting site readiness.
- Lead operational governance for Purchasing Info Records (PIRs), Source Lists, and Vendor Master Data.
- Ensure continuous master data alignment across Finance, Quality, and Sourcing.
- Track operational KPIs, including PO compliance, invoice automation rate, and cycle times, and deliver performance updates to CoE and Procurement leadership.
- Act as the strategic liaison between internal procurement specialists and external operational partners.
- Partner with Manufacturing, R&D, and Planning/Buying teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure all P2P transactional workflows adhere to medical device regulatory and quality frameworks.
What you'll need
- A university degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Life Sciences.
- Proven track record in P2P operations, direct material (COGS) procurement, or material supply execution within global manufacturing environments.
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, quality standards, and audit readiness in medical devices, human diagnostics, or pharmaceuticals.
- Advanced knowledge in AI application and a strong affinity to explore AI-driven solutions, particularly regarding the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).
- Strong hands-on proficiency in SAP MM/FI modules, including PIRs, PO management, Vendor Master, and GR/IR processing.
- Proven track record of managing complex relationships across internal teams and external operational partners.
- Skill in balancing cross-functional priorities, resolving matrix conflicts, and driving operational alignment across the end-to-end supply chain.
- Self-organized, customer-focused, and collaborative, with a strong “Can-Do” attitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to psychological safety and an open speak-up culture.
- Business-level fluency in English.
Nice to have
- An advanced degree (Master’s/MBA) or professional supply chain certification, such as CIPS or APICS.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations or global template deployments.
- Additional languages spoken at major manufacturing hubs.

- Reports directly to the Procurement Operations Lead and is part of the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE).
- Works with the DOP Leadership Team, DOP Delivery, DOP Category teams, CoE LT, Procurement Specialists, RSS Demand-to-Pay, peer BCLs, Global Procurement, and third-party partners.
