CAE Engineer- Structural

Overview

CAE Engineer (Structural) to perform structural finite element analysis (FEA) simulations for polyamide components, supporting product development and customer applications. Also provides mechanical engineering expertise for material performance, failure analysis, and design optimization.

What you'll do

• Conduct CAE simulations to support project timelines and key milestones.
• Use CAE tools to predict and optimize material performance for customer applications.
• Collaborate on developing and managing material characterization data, simulation models, analyses, and customer presentations.
• Validate and correlate simulation results with physical testing and real-world component performance.
• Perform engineering analyses for root cause investigations, including crashworthiness and durability/failure assessments.
• Optimize designs and material solutions across cost, weight, manufacturability, and performance.

What you'll need

• Masters’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plastic Engineering.
• 5 years of automotive or general industrial CAE experience for structural plastic applications.
• Knowledge of injection molding processing and plastic mechanical behavior.
• Structural FEA tool experience with Abaqus and Hyperworks.
• Experience with static, dynamic, fatigue, and creep analyses including nonlinear material behavior and correlation to physical testing.
