Overview
Design, develop and virtually validate Ground Engaging Tool (GET) systems for construction equipment such as hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders and dozers, delivering durable, cost-effective wear solutions that improve machine productivity, wear life and reliability.
What you'll do
- Design and develop GET system components, including tooth points, adapters, wear caps, shrouds, side bar protectors, heel shrouds, edge cutting, ripper shanks and related wear protection products.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications and product documentation.
- Develop product solutions based on customer applications, machine performance requirements and field feedback.
- Use FEA, Discrete Element Modeling (DEM), wear simulations and engineering calculations to evaluate and optimize designs.
- Develop load cases, breakout force calculations and component performance requirements through application understanding.
- Challenge conventional designs and identify opportunities to improve product performance and reduce cost.
- Apply analytical thinking and problem solving, including root-cause analysis of durability and reliability issues using simulation and data-driven evaluation of design alternatives.
- Apply technical excellence and innovation, including structural, thermal, dynamic and fatigue analysis methodologies.
- Use CAE tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperMesh, LS-DYNA, Nastran or equivalent platforms to develop finite element models for linear, nonlinear, static, dynamic, thermal and fatigue analyses, including model setup, meshing, boundary conditions, result interpretation and validation.
- Conduct correlation studies between simulation and physical test results to improve model accuracy.
- Perform simulation-driven evaluations to verify durability, structural integrity and performance requirements, and collaborate with design, manufacturing and testing teams to validate engineering solutions.
- Contribute to design reviews with simulation insights and engineering recommendations.
- Communicate complex simulation results to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear engineering reports, presentations and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams and support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the engineering organization.
- Ensure accuracy in simulation models, assumptions, inputs and result interpretations, and follow established engineering standards and quality requirements.
