Chief Technology Officer

Overview

Lead technology strategy, architecture and engineering standards across the Group. The role combines technical leadership across multiple businesses with hands-on involvement in systems, architecture and engineering execution.

What you'll do

• Own architecture and major technical decisions across products and platforms.
• Review critical systems, infrastructure, architecture and code.
• Set standards for reliability, security, performance, testing and code quality.
• Identify technical debt and architecture constraints and drive resolution.
• Improve engineering productivity, development speed and production reliability.
• Determine which technology and infrastructure should be shared across businesses.
• Recruit and assess senior engineers, technical leads and engineering leaders.

What you'll need

• Deep software engineering experience building and scaling production systems.
• Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams.
• Strong technical judgement at the implementation level.
• Ability to build engineering teams.
• Hands-on ability to review code, architecture, incidents and difficult engineering problems.
