Chipset Power -Principal engineer

Overview

Principal engineer in chipset power, working with cross-functional teams to model, analyze, correlate, and improve power consumption use cases for Qualcomm chipsets.

What you'll do

• Maintain and develop chipset-level power use case modeling tools and methodologies.
• Work with power HW/SW/System teams to collect power use case definitions and characteristics.
• Map power use cases to individual hardware blocks by understanding high-level hardware architecture.
• Translate power estimate requests into detailed tasks for end-to-end power modeling.
• Analyze modeling outputs, summarize results, present findings, and propose improvement solutions.
• Enable other teams to use tools and methodologies for in-depth power analysis.

What you'll need

• 13 to 18 years of experience in one or more of: application processor, modem communication systems design, or mobile technologies (WAN modem, CPU, camera, graphics).
• Experience in commercialization of system-level power features.
• Interest in system analysis.
• Solid foundation in electrical engineering, with the ability to work with spreadsheets and custom tools at a detailed level.
• Systems/HW background with knowledge of microprocessor and common SoC hardware blocks.
• Required degree: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering.
