Cloud Engineer 3 (GCP)

Overview

Implement business initiatives across Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on Data Science and Machine Learning infrastructure, and contribute to solution design and cloud standards.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with other engineers and technology professionals to implement and thoroughly test a business solution on cloud by completing all requirements.
• Keep up to date with the latest cloud services innovations and use them to improve business continuity, performance, security and cost savings.
• Create, lead and contribute to best practices and standards on cloud that all Technology teams must follow when creating business solutions.
• Contribute to the design of various cloud-based business solutions.
• Train and coach colleagues on working with cloud services and on the standards and best practices to follow.
• Create required documentation to meet business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Ensure services the team owns stay in good health, and respond to incidents, including outages and security breaches.
• Work closely with the Data Science team to develop and maintain reusable infrastructure patterns, improve operational efficiency, and enable self-service through automation and Infrastructure as Code.

What you'll need

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Highly skilled in Google Cloud Platform and its services, including IAM, VPC Networking, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Monitoring and Logging.
• Skilled in planning, designing, building and implementing cloud services with non-functional requirements.
• Skilled in networking and security.
• Skilled in administering Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
• Skilled in writing infrastructure as code scripts (Terraform, Python, Bash).
• Skilled in optimizing workloads and reducing run times for automated processes.
• Skilled in CI/CD tools (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with configuration/orchestration management tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification or future equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience supporting Data Science, Analytics or Machine Learning platforms and workloads.
• Other latest Google Cloud Platform certifications.
• Experience in multi-cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure.
