Cloud Engineer (GDC)

Overview

Cloud Engineer (GDC) at 66degrees, bridging centralized cloud and localized edge intelligence for Manufacturing Edge environments on GCP and Google Distributed Cloud (GDC).

What you'll do

• Design and deploy scalable, resilient infrastructure on GCP and GDC.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Implement and support Manufacturing Edge Connect use cases for edge-to-cloud integration.
• Develop and maintain Data Hub architectures for centralized data ingestion and analytics.
• Build DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for cloud and edge development workflows.
• Enforce security measures and compliance across distributed environments (GDPR, HIPAA, CIS).
• Set up monitoring, alerting, logging, and disaster recovery procedures for mission-critical systems.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with GCP for cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and management.
• Direct experience with Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) in edge/industrial environments.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes (GKE) and container orchestration at scale.
• Skills optimizing BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, Firestore, Bigtable, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub.
• Experience integrating edge systems with cloud platforms for secure, low-latency, scalable data flow.
• Strong understanding of hybrid connectivity, VPCs, and secure edge-to-cloud networking.
• Proficiency in Terraform (or similar IaC) and Python or Bash; ability to manage Linux and Windows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
