Cloud Infra Operations – Manager - Windows

Overview

Manage the Platform Operations team for M&G Global Services, responsible for the continuous operation and upkeep of cloud infrastructure and platforms, including the Azure estate.

What you'll do

• Ensure the continuous operation and upkeep of cloud infrastructure and platforms.
• Enhance, automate and shape the future development of the digital estate.
• Manage critical platforms running the Azure estate and support engineering teams to drive business value in technology.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure, including incident management and root cause analysis.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement automated solutions to overcome them.
• Help build out the team's presence in M&G Global Services, building, mentoring and guiding teams and individuals.
• Oversee and manage the patching process for Windows and Linux servers, ensuring timely updates and minimal disruption.
• Implement and maintain robust disaster recovery strategies and ensure business continuity.

What you'll need

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a Windows administration environment and working in the IT industry.
• In-depth experience as a hands-on IT Engineer with strong knowledge of different cloud technologies and platforms; experience with Azure is essential.
• Understanding of cloud governance, best practices and policies within Azure.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot unknown technical issues.
• Proven track record in providing support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure, including incident management and root cause analysis.
• Experience identifying inefficiencies and implementing automated solutions.
• Experience building, mentoring and guiding teams and individuals.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams to support cloud solutions effectively.
• Understanding of inventory management and software assurance, alongside CMDB and/or other asset management tooling.
• Scripting in your relevant discipline and/or within Cloud Automation.
• Experience implementing and maintaining robust disaster recovery strategies and ensuring business continuity.
• Experience overseeing and managing the patching process for Windows and Linux servers.
• Utilising tools such as Ivanti or similar patch management systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and technologies, including Git, Azure DevOps (or equivalent) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Relevant cloud and/or technology experience.
