Cloud Operations Engineer

Overview

As a Cloud Operations Engineer at ZEISS Digital Partners, you will ensure the smooth operation and delivery of software applications in a cloud environment by designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services. You will help ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.

What you'll do

• Deploy and maintain cloud-based solutions in collaboration with the DevOps Core team and Development teams.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and services.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the availability and performance of the software application and infrastructure.
• Respond to and resolve incidents and issues related to cloud infrastructure, services, and software applications, ensuring timely restoration of services.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
• Continuously improve and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure maximum performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Development and Security teams to implement best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to cloud infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Provide 24/7 support.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 - 6 Years of relevant experience in Software or Cloud Platform Operations or Cloud Application Operations or Development projects in an agile environment, including service management.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services, specifically Azure or AWS or other cloud platform.
• In-depth knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting and other aspects of application operations.
• Hands-on experience using monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics workspace.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Proficient in Linux and typical Unix tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience in Azure DevOps and version control systems like Git.
• Experience in Cloud Security Operations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in a team, and a professional attitude.

Nice to have

• Preferred knowledge of common Infrastructure-as-Code tools, specifically Terraform/ARM on Azure.
• Preferred knowledge of designing continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines with Azure DevOps on Azure.

• Location: Bangalore.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts of 8.5 hours, including bank holidays and weekends.
