Coder - ED Facility with E/M Injection & Infusion

Overview

Coding role on the Guidehouse India coding team, transforming medical diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes for emergency department facility work with E/M, injection and infusion work types.

What you'll do

• Accurately transform medical diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Turn around the team's daily coding volumes accurately within the specified turnaround time.
• Check input volumes allotted by the Team Lead and report coding as per client guidelines and coding guidelines, maintaining operational quality and productivity.
• Interact regularly with the Team Lead and act on feedback.
• Understand in detail the workflow, procedures and specific criteria for the assigned client.
• Meet the monthly target with above 95% accuracy consistently.
• Attend the weekly QA and team meetings without fail and respond in two-way communication with the Quality Analyst and Team Lead.

What you'll need

• Any life science, paramedical graduate or postgraduate degree.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience.
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of patients across different specialties.
• Certified by AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, CCS).
• Ability to communicate, with excellent interpersonal, listening and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.
• Good analytic skills and expertise to accurately code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions, especially emergency room coding and ED with E/M, injection and infusion facility work types.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of coding software such as 3M and Encoder Pro.
