Overview
Lead Anthropic’s compute strategy build-out in Canada, coordinating a cross-functional team to bring compute online at scale.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end strategy and coordination for compute build-out in Canada from site selection through construction and operations.
- Serve as primary point of accountability across workstreams including leasing, financing, energy, government relations/policy, community engagement, construction, and operations.
- Provide in-country cross-functional leadership to drive alignment and unblock issues.
- Represent Anthropic externally with government officials, utilities, energy providers, and other stakeholders in Canada.
- Build and maintain relationships in the Canadian government and energy industry to support site, power, and policy outcomes.
- Track progress and surface risks across parallel workstreams as capacity scales.
- Translate Anthropic’s global compute priorities into Canada-specific regulatory, political, and market conditions.
What you'll need
- Canadian national with established links into government and the energy industry strongly preferred.
- Structured thinker who can quickly learn new domains and go deep fast.
- Excellent communication skills for representing Anthropic to senior government, utility, and industry stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams without direct line authority.
- Hyper-organized and detail-oriented, able to own multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Background in energy, infrastructure, or a related sector.
- Comfort with ambiguity and driving structure into undefined situations.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with large-scale infrastructure or datacenter development.
- Existing relationships with Canadian federal or provincial government bodies relevant to energy, land use, or industrial development.
- Experience managing or overseeing capital-intensive projects.
- Familiarity with the compute, cloud, or datacenter industry.
Details
- Location-based hybrid policy: expect staff in offices at least 25% of the time.
- Visa sponsorship: Anthropic sponsors visas and will make reasonable efforts if an offer is made.
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
