Counsel 1 - Legal (Product) - Officer, Hybrid

Overview

Entry-level legal counsel supporting Citi’s Product business with legal guidance, trading documentation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

What you'll do

• Provide legal guidance and advice on matters affecting the business.
• Interpret relevant laws, regulations, rules, and industry practices.
• Negotiate and prepare ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, CDEA, and related trading documentation.
• Conduct due diligence on agreement enforceability and capital-rules requirements.
• Coordinate deviation approvals and track documentation compliance.
• Support regulatory, remediation, and documentation projects.
• Manage trading-documentation data and coordinate with regional support teams.

What you'll need

• 0–2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Banking or financial-industry experience with knowledge of banking regulations.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree.
• Bar license in good standing to practice law.
• Experience with complex deals and developing legal solutions.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
• Fluency in Microsoft Word.

Nice to have

• Financial-services industry experience.
• Knowledge of international laws, regulations, and practices.
• Knowledge of legal customs and practices.
