Customer Engineer (m/f/d)

Overview

Customer Engineer (Field Service Engineer) serving as the direct liaison with customers to install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Provides technical support and troubleshooting, including preventative/corrective maintenance and customer communication.

What you'll do

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot issues.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate with customers to ensure smooth operations and service.
• Respond to fab issues by communicating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls.
• Provide technical support for startup and ongoing operation of a greenfield semiconductor fab in Dresden.

What you'll need

• 2-4 years of experience in field service, maintenance, manufacturing support, installation engineering, or a related technical role.
• Associate/bachelor’s/master’s in relevant engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience identifying and resolving technical issues through structured troubleshooting.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid authorization to live and work in Germany and the ability to travel within Europe for customer visits.
• Functional knowledge to maintain semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom environment.

• Location: Dresden, Germany.
• Travel: up to 20% (higher during the first 12 months).
