- Design and build dimensional and analytical data models in Snowflake using dbt.
- Develop, test, and maintain dbt models with documentation and data tests.
- Optimize SQL queries and dbt models for performance using Snowflake features.
- Own orchestration, scheduling, and deployment of dbt jobs with SLAs, reliability, and observability.
- Implement data quality checks and freshness tests in dbt to catch issues early.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to validate sources and surface anomalies.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a similar role.
- Hands-on proficiency building and maintaining dbt projects in a data warehouse (preferably Snowflake).
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment (GitHub Actions preferred).
- Solid understanding of dimensional modeling concepts like star schema and preventing schema drift.
- Hands-on experience with core AWS services including S3, Lambda, and IAM.
- Advanced SQL skills including complex transformations and window functions.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, pipeline scripting, and automation.
- Ability to explore raw data, identify quality issues, and communicate findings clearly.
- Experience treating data code like software: version-controlled, peer-reviewed, tested, and documented.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex).
Nice to have
