Data Engineering Intern

Overview

An internship on the Data & AI team supporting the design, build and maintenance of data pipelines and datasets for analytics, reporting and AI use cases.

What you'll do

• Assist in collecting, ingesting, transforming and validating data from multiple source systems.
• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Perform data profiling and quality checks to ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Assist in designing and maintaining datasets for analytics, reporting and AI use cases.
• Work with structured and semi-structured data from various enterprise systems.
• Support data modeling activities for data warehouses, data marts and lakehouse environments.
• Participate in data validation, testing, troubleshooting and performance optimization activities.
• Document data pipelines, data models, technical solutions and best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, Big Data and AI-enabled data solutions.

What you'll need

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related quantitative disciplines.
• Strong academic foundation in programming, databases and data management concepts.
• Familiarity with data transformation, data processing and data quality techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Good communication and presentation abilities.
• Strong foundation in Python programming.
• Understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration principles.
• Experience working with data processing libraries such as Pandas.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub or other version control systems.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing and lakehouse concepts.
• Ability to work with structured and semi-structured datasets.
